That being said, there is a reason Wilton has the following it does in the cake community. Wilton equals guaranteed quality. The Explosion Stand is the most modern looking of the stands Wilton offers. With the tiers reaching more up than out, this is a great stand if you’re cramped for space, or if you’re looking for something less traditional.

The trick is to have a stand that is large enough for the occasion but not larger. Obviously, this can be a little more difficult than it sounds. Often times, you don’t know the exact number of guests until the day before or sometimes even the day of the party, and you don’t want to be scrambling to get a different size, or worse yet, worrying about the cupcakes running out and constantly having to refill an empty stand.
